A Dog's Purpose (2017)

The film A Dog's Purpose crafts with simplicity and efficacy a coming-of-age story where the canine protagonist, through his reincarnations, seeks to comprehend the meaning of his existence. The work celebrates the unconditional loyalty of animals and the profound bond that forms between them and people. Although the premise of reincarnation is a narrative fantasy that does not align with a Christian vision of life after death, the film focuses on universal values such as perseverance, service, and the importance of emotional bonds. It is an invitation to reflect upon the impact we have on the lives of others and how love can transcend time. The narrative is moving and designed to touch the heart, offering a hopeful perspective on life and death, seen through the innocence and wisdom of a dog. It is a suitable option for family viewing, which can open a dialogue about love, loss, and personal purpose.
