Extreme and graphic violence typical of the adult video game franchise.
In-depth analysis
Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is faithful to the DNA of the video game it adapts: extreme, unfiltered combat. The animated film viscerally reproduces the franchise's characteristic 'fatalities' — dismemberments, decapitations, and deaths designed to shock with their graphic creativity and choreographed sadism. The animation does not attenuate the crudeness; on the contrary, it stylizes and amplifies it. Blood is abundant, violence is the narrative engine, and the tone celebrates brutality as spectacle. The language is adult and frequently vulgar. There are elements of partial nudity and moderate sexual references. From an ideological standpoint, the work has no deconstructive agenda — it is a martial arts tournament in a fantasy universe, without philosophical pretensions beyond good versus evil. The problem is not the underlying message, but the extreme manner in which it presents violence. This is a work designed exclusively for an adult audience fond of the graphic action genre. It is not appropriate for minors or for families, regardless of parental supervision. The R rating is more than justified.
