Synopsis

When an army commando finds out his true love is engaged against her will, he boards a New Dehli-bound train in a daring quest to derail the arranged marriage. But when a gang of knife-wielding thieves begin to terrorize innocent passengers on his train, the commando takes them on, one by one.

Verdict

Extreme and visceral violence in prolonged hand-to-hand combat.

In-depth analysis

The Indian film transforms the confined setting of a train into a continuous battlefield where violence reaches levels of extreme brutality. What distinguishes this work from other action films is not the premise — commandos facing bandits — but the graphic and prolonged intensity of the hand-to-hand combat. The choreography prioritizes visceral realism over stylization: detailed stabbings, abundant blood, broken bones with amplified sound. The camera does not flinch. The sound design reinforces every blow. The American R rating falls short of describing the sustained visual rawness during nearly two hours of footage. There is no moral ambiguity that justifies this level of violence as a spiritual dilemma — it is heroic action, but executed with a cruelty of depiction that far exceeds what a parent would expect to find in a standard action film. The work has no ideological agenda or sexual content, but the dimension of graphic violence makes it exclusive material for adults with a strong constitution. Not recommended for minors nor for viewers sensitive to explicit violence.
