⚠️ [IDEOLOGICAL ALERT]: Normalizes homosexual attraction between teenagers under the guise of a superhero drama.
In-depth analysis
The New Mutants presents a primarily psychological and fantastical conflict: five mutant teenagers confined in a hospital that explores their powers through internal terrors. The moral plane dominates, with an arc of redemption that values loyal friendship and shared responsibility to overcome personal demons, evoking free will and human dignity in the fight against inner chaos. However, it introduces a covert agenda by normalizing a homosexual romantic attraction between two female protagonists (Rahne and Dani), with a kiss and intimate moments presented as a natural expression of identity, without anthropological questioning. This surreptitious normalization disconnects sexuality from the natural complementarity of man and woman, instrumentalizing the adolescent context to validate impulses against the natural law. The fantastical violence includes gore visions and combats with monstrous transformations, moderated by the PG-13 tone. The language is adolescent with sporadic vulgarities. Although it celebrates bonds of improvised filiation and collective heroism, the ideological contraband in the sphere of sexuality and marriage prioritizes alert: it erodes integral anthropology by equating subjective desires with personal fulfillment, closing the dialogue on virtue and natural order.
