In-depth analysis

The film follows Javi, a nine-year-old boy, who investigates an old manor house where a crime of passion supposedly occurred. Through this exploration, the story reveals how children confront the fear of the unknown and the narratives they inherit from adults. The aforementioned crime remains in the past and is not depicted with visual details, thus the tension arises more from imagination and atmosphere than from explicit imagery. The film addresses grief and family secrets in a restrained manner, without sensationalism. Javi's learning centers on emotional maturity and on distinguishing between reality and fantasy. There are no elements that question human nature nor introduce disruptive ideologies. The tone is introspective and respectful of childhood sensibility, inviting reflection on how children process loss and mystery.
