In-depth analysis

This work addresses child sexual abuse and its consequences with extreme bluntness. The narrative follows two child victims of the same predator: Brian represses the memory of the trauma by inventing a story of alien abduction, while Neil develops hypersexualized behaviors and destructive relationships with adult men. The film includes scenes that depict or strongly imply the sexual abuse of minors, explicit sexual content in the characters' adult lives, and physical violence. Although the director seeks to expose the devastation of child abuse without glamour, the visual and narrative treatment is viscerally disturbing. The inclusion of homosexual characters is presented in the context of trauma, but their mere presence triggers a caution from the Fund. The artistic purpose of denunciation does not mitigate the extremely graphic nature of the content nor the absolute unsuitability of the work for family viewing. It is intended exclusively for adults with mature judgment and the capacity to process themes of sexual abuse without traumatic effects. Not recommended under any circumstances for minors or for families.
