In-depth analysis
Squared Love is a Polish romantic comedy that follows the classic formula of the genre effectively but without surprises. The plot constructs an arc of maturity: the protagonist, a journalist accustomed to emotional consumption and superficiality, discovers that true intimacy demands vulnerability and a renunciation of egoism. The woman's double life functions as a mirror: what he believed he knew about love proves to be as superficial as the appearances she projects. The script does not delve into the moral roots of promiscuity nor the real consequences of the protagonist's lifestyle, but at least it posits dissatisfaction as a starting point for genuine change. The film features scenes of adult romance, passionate kisses, and suggestive situations typical of the genre, making it unsuitable for minors. The language is adult but not vulgar. For parents: it is a conventional rom-com that can serve as an occasion to discuss the difference between desire and love, the importance of commitment, and the risk of reducing people to objects of consumption. Without ideological alerts, but it requires maturity from the viewer.
